Shining Star Summer Music Lab Terms and Policies 2026

Our policies are designed to create a safe, joyful, and well-run experience for all campers while setting clear expectations for families.

Deposit & Enrollment
A $200 non-refundable deposit per week, per student is required at the time of registration (up to a maximum of 8 weeks). Enrollment is not confirmed until the deposit is received. If you are using the Step Up for Students Scholarship to pay for this program, please see that section for payment policies.

Deposit & Tuition Refund Policy
Registration deposits and paid tuition are non-refundable, except as explicitly stated in these policies.
If your availability changes, you may request to transfer to a different program week by providing at least 14 days written notice via email. Transfers are subject to availability. If the requested week is full, we will offer any alternate weeks that have space available.

Tuition Balance
The remaining tuition balance will be invoiced within 7 days of deposit payment and must be paid in full within 7 days of receiving the invoice. Failure to pay the balance by the due date may result in forfeiture of the camper’s spot without refund of the deposit.

Step Up for Students (SUFS)
Families using Step Up for Students scholarship funds, will not be required to pay the deposit of $200 per week, if you reserve the appropriate number of funds in EMA in the online marketplace for Providers (search us under Shining Star Music Academy, select your city, then select the number of funds that are appropriate to your registration). Funds must be reserved within 48 hours of completing this form, or your reservation may be canceled, as we have minimal openings.

If Step Up for Students does not pay for the program for any reason (including loss of eligibility), the parent/guardian is responsible for the full outstanding balance. In this case, late fees of 5% per month overdue will apply if not resolved within 7 days of an invoice sent after the assigned program concludes.

Extended Care
Early and after care are available for an additional fee.

  • When selected at enrollment, extended care fees are billed as
    part of tuition and are non-refundable, regardless of use.

  • Single-day extended care may be purchased during camp,
    subject to availability, and is non-refundable once purchased.

  • Extended care fees are not eligible for payment through Step Up for Students and
    must be paid directly by the parent/guardian.

Absences & Withdrawals
No refunds or credits are issued for absences, schedule changes, early withdrawals, or missed days.

Program Changes or Cancellation
The Academy reserves the right to modify or cancel camp sessions due to circumstances beyond its control. In the event of an Academy-initiated cancellation, refunds or credits may be issued at the Academy’s discretion, based on timing and circumstances.

Behavior & Dismissal
We strive to create a safe, encouraging, and respectful environment for all campers. If a child’s behavior significantly disrupts the experience or compromises safety, we may contact the family to discuss next steps, which could include early dismissal. In these situations, refunds or credits are not provided.

Medical, Liability & Media Release
All required medical, emergency, liability waiver, and media release forms must be completed prior to participation in the program.

Health and Illness
For the well-being of all campers and staff, children should arrive healthy and able to participate fully in camp activities. If a child shows signs of illness during the day, we may contact a parent/guardian to arrange an early pickup. We appreciate your understanding that refunds or credits are not available for illness-related absences.

Arrival, Pickup & Supervision
Families are responsible for ensuring timely drop-off and pickup during scheduled camp and extended care hours. Camp staff are available to supervise children only during these designated times. If a late pickup occurs, we’ll always reach out to parents or emergency contacts and appreciate your cooperation in helping our days run smoothly. Late pickup may result in additional fees.

Media Release
Throughout the program, we may take photos or short videos to celebrate camp activities and share the joy of music learning. By enrolling, families grant permission for the Academy to use this media for promotional or educational purposes, including on our website and social media. We’re always mindful of representing our students respectfully and positively.

Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
